An Association of Churches

Joy & Crown

A fellowship of churches standing together — in doctrine, in mission, and in the work God has given each of us to do.

“My brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord.”

Philippians 4:1

Who We Are

An Association, Not an Institution

Joy and Crown exists because no church was ever meant to stand alone. We are a fellowship of autonomous local churches, joined by a shared confession of faith and a shared commitment to the Great Commission. Each church governs its own affairs — its leadership, its property, its people. What we hold in common is the work: building infrastructure, training ministers, planting churches, sending missionaries, and caring for the people Christ called us to serve.

We are not a denomination in the bureaucratic sense. We are churches choosing, freely and repeatedly, to do this together.

Governance — Built on Trust, Not Hierarchy

Led by the Churches We Serve

Joy and Crown is governed by its member churches, not the other way around. Each church sends Messengers to represent it. Those Messengers, in assembly, hold the Association accountable — including for the election of its Board of Directors. No church surrenders its autonomy to join. They simply agree to walk together.

Is Your Church Called to This?

If your congregation holds regular worship, administers the ordinances, has recognized spiritual leadership, and affirms our Statement of Faith without reservation, we'd welcome the conversation. Membership isn't a formality — it's a covenant to do this work in common.
